And another year has gone!
2025 has been a roller-coaster! Overall, it all went well. But what a journey!
It started with a lot of uncertainties, with me being on the hunt for my next job which eventually led me to Switzerland! So yes, the first good quarter was a bit anxious, thrilling towards the end, but definitely challenging! But then in April came the biggest celebration with Daniel’s and my wedding day in Italy, which was incredible and I am still very thankful for that!
And just a week after that, the Swiss adventure began! And again, not the smoothest ride. We luckily found a good apartment quick enough and I really started my new job with the best intentions. And, once again, overall, I can say it has been a great change, full of challenges and learning, I met for, the first time in a good 2-3 years, people I actually enjoy working with and hanging out even (me. Imagine that!). But, let me tell you, Switzerland is like Project Runway, one day you’re in, and the next day WHOTHEFUCKKNOWS. So, as per now, I am enjoying it while it lasts, and I do hope it lasts! If there is one thing I hope 2026 will bring me is stability. I am getting too tired of needing to re-think my life every other year! I need to chill, drink tea, play 20-year-old video games and plan my retirement.
Now, there have been very good moments already here in Switzerland:
- I went to see Sophie Ellis-Bextor live in Zurich for the first time ever and I LOVED it! (some pics & videos here)
- I have been spending more time with my Greek friends (including the sweetest new arrival, Aris!) and have seen my friend Laurence after a billion years!
- We repeated the experience of going to Soverato by train with the doggos, although for only two weeks this time – I mean, I had limited holidays with my new job anyway…
- I had amazing fondue 😀 We had it also with my dad, who visited us at the end September, which was lovely. Of course, just like last year in Munich he travelled during a strike in Austria, this time he left the day of a big avalanche in Italy… the guy can’t catch a break (…mom is that you?)
- We went to an amazing Drag Brunch right before Xmas, very international and very very much fun!
- And I manged to write some blog posts too here
And to wrap it up: thank you to every single one who has given me joy, calm and strength in 2025 and please stay connected in 2026 too 🙂
