It’s been now about 2 months since we moved to Switzerland.
I started my new job at the beginning of May, an intense start, but so far it’s been very stimulating. We’re settling nicely in Dietikon for now. The plan is to explore the town a bit more, and the surrounding area, to think of where we would like to settle maybe long term.
The change is already evident: not being in a big city like Munich or Zurich is quite peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Having a good train line also helps. I have been able already to meet up with my friends here in Zurich: Lito, who has been very vocal about Zurich being “the place to be” and even Laurence, who I haven’t seen for many years after Edinburgh and our time at ST Microelectronics all these years ago. Very good to see them and to have the chance to see them more often now.
Also, since I am sharing big news: this happened at the end of April, right before moving here 🙂 Daniel and I shared the celebration of our wedding with our closest friends at Lake Garda 🙂 Although we had been already married since last October, we wanted to celebrate properly in Italy. Legal wedding in Germany and food and party in Italy, sounds fair 😀
Summer is also pretty much starting, we are finalising some plans for August and I hope we can wind down a bit and relax after that’s been going on these months! Lots of good things, but also very energy consuming 😀
I hope I can catch up with more friends soon, too 🙂
As usual, drop me a message if we haven’t spoken in a while.
Ciao,
Sal
